.I have lived in my fishing community for almost 30 years and I have family ties to many fisherman. My husband is a lobsterman. (I used work as a sternman when I first met my husband many years ago.) I have seen many families and friends struggle with the ups and downs that go with the fishing industry throughout the years. I am very impressed with the resources and awareness that Maine Coastal Fisherman's Association provides for fisherman and their families and running this race is a small way that I can help support them. Running is something I like to do for my mental health.
